Musing with Mocha
About Me

The only decent photo I could get with Mocha.
Okay full disclosure:
I don’t actually drink coffee. Unless you count the occasional frappuccino as a sweet treat. The name has a double meaning, because my dog’s name is Mocha, who sits by my feet as I write. She’s a Golden Retriever mix. As you can see in the photo, she’s really just a miniature version of a Golden Retriever. So whatever she is mixed with is beyond me. And as you can also see, I’m much more comfortable talking about my dog than I am myself.
As for me…
I was born and raised in South Louisiana, where I currently still reside. However, I’m planning on moving out of state soon. And as I get into my thirties and relocate, I thought this would be a good way to document the beginning of what is hopefully an enriching and fulfilling new chapter of my life. So on this blog, you’ll find me musing on my life, but also essays on various media. When it comes to movies, books, music, and video games, I am an aficionado in absolutely none of them. And yet, I love to consume and write about them.

Yes, this is also my Tinder profile pic.
So welcome to the void
In a time where everyone displays the highlights of their life on social media, and large parts of the publication industry is being taken over by AI, I recognize that this little blog will probably not be seen by many. And so why not? Why not just write my feelings and post them here? We all have a voice and deserve a space to express ourselves. For the first thirty years of my life, I was scared to do just that. But now I’m ready to give my unfiltered, no-nonsense, ripped from the heart and extracted from the brain musings and ruminations. Coffee is optional.
